Quick info
Data type {datatype}
i.e. String, Numeric or Date (choose only one)
Scale {scale}
Scale is connected to Data type: if Data type is "Numeric" choose one of either "Binary", "Multinomial", "Ordinal", or "Metric"; if Data type is "Date" choose "Date" as scale; if Data type is string, use "String" for scale. Scale must also match the column "Scale" in the indicator table.
Value labels {valuelabels}
Add value labels as a list using the HTML list tags. In software like Stata, SAS or the like it would be called "value labels". Value labels are usually used for nominal and ordinal scales only, i.e. for metric variables write "Not applicable". Examples include: 0 = "No", 1 = "Yes" or "1 = Totally agree" ... "7 = Totally disagree".
Technical name {techname}
Technical and unique name of an indicator. Refer to the naming convention for the initial characters and add a meaningful suffix. This is the same as "Technical name" in the indicator table. In software like Stata, SAS or the like it would be called "variable name".
Category {category}
A link to the indicator table of the corresponding category (which are grouped as Y, X1 and X2 in WeSISpedia), e.g. Political factors if the indicator belongs to the category "Political factors". Internal links use the following notation: Name of page (or readable name), e.g. Political factors.
Label {label}
Add the easy-to-read label of the indicator. This is the same as "Indicator name" in the indicator table. In software like Stata, SAS or the like this would be called "variable label".
Related indicators {relatedindicators}
Add a list of related indicators using the HTML list tags
(otherwise write "Not applicable"). Examples are sub-dimensions of an index or conceptually close indicators.
<!-- Use this template to create a new Indicator page.
     You need to add the following lines to a new page.
     Write the corresponding information of your indicator after the equal sign;
     or use "Edit with form" to modify the page.

     Note that
     * the following fields of the template shall contain a list: relatedindicators, relatedpublications, datarelease
     * the following fields of the template may contain a list (if applicable): valuelabels, revisions, sources, codingrules
     * the following fields of the template shall not contain a list: projectmanagers, citation

{description}

This is a test indicator and its description starts here. This text shall introduce the indicator as concise as possible including references to major works if it is already published.

Coding rules

{codingrules}

This section shall report all coding rules and decisions underlying the data collection. For indicators from other sources than the CRC, e.g. statistical data from the OECD, WHO, World Bank etc. simply refer to their documentation, i.e. you do not have to spell out "their" coding rules.

Bibliographic info

Citation: {citation}

Here you claim or give credits for a specific operationalization or the data if it is presented in published work. Note that only one citation shall be given as the main reference (henceforth there shall be no list here). Add hyperlinks to articles, pdfs and the like if possible (doi preferable).

Related publications: {relatedpublications}

Here you claim or give credits to related publications, i.e. cite the work of others if the indicator or operationalization is related to their works and references have been made in the description. Add hyperlinks to articles, pdfs and the like if possible (doi preferable). Make use of a list (HTML-list preferably) even if there is only one related publication.
Note: This section is for credit claiming and giving. It differs from sources as the section below lists all material used for compiling the indicator.

Misc

Project manager(s): {projectmanagers}

Add the responsible person or project (PI). You may also give credits to all people (e.g. student assistants) involved in the data collection. Use "first name surname" as format (unlike, for example, a citation which usually starts with the surname).

Data release: {datarelease}

This section will include information regarding the publication of the focal indicator in different versions of WeSIS. It is a list about changes or updates of the data. If it is a new indicator type:
  • Version 0.001: Initial release.

Revisions: {revisions}

This section shall report any changes and/or corrections made to the data, e.g. different estimation, interpolation techniques, correction of wrong data, new sources and related changes etc. Example: "Wrong data for Gabun in version 0.001 was corrected in version 0.002." To start with type: "No revisions yet".

Sources

{sources}

Add all original sources used for compiling the indicator in a list using the APSA style; add hyperlinks if possible (doi preferable).
  • Source 1
  • Source 2
  • Source 3
  • Source 4
  • Source 5
