Name of the Head of Government (HoG).
Coding rules
- The names and titles are reported as found in the sources and were loosely checked so the spelling of the very same person’s name and/or title is consistent for subsequent years.
- The names are reported valid as of December 31st of a given year. If more than one HoG was in office in a given year, the previous office holders are not included.
- The variable v2exhoshog from V-Dem's main dataset was used to identify those years where the HoS is also the HoG. In these cases data for the HoG-variables (i.e. name, party affiliation and Party Facts ID) is set to missing.
