Optional column names

The templates for collecting and importing data in WeSIS allow for optional column names. These can be freely assigned to fit a project's needs. Still, this page includes a list with suggested column names that other projects already assigned. If these names fit your column(s) please apply the same name. If they do not fit, create a new entry in the list so that other projects can adopt your suggestion. The more harmonized column names there are, the easier it will be to match and exploit this additional information in WeSIS later on.

Suggested column name	Description
comment	Any comments related to the value.
quote	Column to add quotes from the source that refer to the value.
url	URL of source.
citation	If the source has a suggested citation you may save it here.
doi	In case the source has a DOI.
data_quality	Old column for saving information on the quality of a value; superseded by plausibility_concerns in the new upload template.
data_quality_confidence	Old column for saving information on the quality of a value; superseded by plausibility_concerns in the new upload template.
reliability	Indication of data quality focusing on reliability of the information based on the type and number of sources the data points are based on.
