This data represents a time-varying weighted and directed network in which countries are linked via Development aid to education. Sender and Receiver are meant literally, i.e. the sender country sends the ODA and the receiver receives the ODA. The value represents the number of donations between a dyad in the respective year.

Coding rules

We draw dyadic network data from the 2016 released AidData Core Research Release version 3.1 dataset (Tierney et al. 2011). This dataset provides the most comprehensive project-level data for tracking international development finance. It depicts annual dyadic data on development aid commitments. The data spans a time frame from 1973 until 2018. We summed the amount of donations from multilateral partners - i.e. non-state actors - in a given year.
