This indicator considers how much the state contributes to the financing of the old-age pension program as a percentage share of employee's payroll earnings. As states often do not define a concrete amount of contributions to flexibly adapt to the requirements of their pension system or use various sources (e.g oil taxes etc.) to finance their pension programs, this variable is only available for a few cases.
