This indicator measures the financing scheme "current expenditure (health)" (SHA 1.0) on the health care provider "long-term nursing care facilities" (SHA HP.2.1) in million national currency units following the System of Health Accounts (SHA; OECD et al. 2011). Current expenditure on health care quantifies the final consumption expenditure of resident units on health care goods and services. Long-term nursing care facilities is a subcategory of "Residential long-term care facilities" (SHA HP.2) and comprises establishments that are primarily engaged in providing inpatient nursing and rehabilitative services for long-term care patients. The care is generally provided for an extended period of time to individuals requiring nursing care.
