This indicator measures the expenditure on the health care function “day long-term care (health)” (SHA HC.3.2) in million national currency units following the System of Health Accounts (SHA; OECD et al. 2011). Expenditure refers to the payments related to final consumption of all health care goods and services by the resident units. The function day long-term care (health) comprises planned long-term care (health) services in a health care facility but without an overnight stay. Services may be provided in a hospital or nursing home or in a dedicated or stand-alone day centre facility.
