This indicator calculates the average domestic private expenditures on health per capita in USD currency. Private sector funds stem from households, corporations and non-profit organizations. Such expenditures can be either prepaid to voluntary health insurance or paid directly to healthcare providers. This indicator describes the size of the private sector expenditures in relation to the population size facilitating international comparison.
