The indicator referes to the participation in the International Large Scale Assesment called: PISA for Development. The PISA for Development programme aims to encourage and facilitate PISA participation by interested and motivated low- and middle-income countries. It combines methods used ion PISA and household-surveys to also measure skills of out-of-school children. The study is administered by the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD).

Coding rules

Participation in one of the studies is coded with 1. All are combined in this indicator. If only a part of the mentioned country took part, we still code it as the larger entity. For example for participation of Dubai, we code the United Arab Emirates.
