The year of introduction for the first federal (national-level) work-injury law that covers workers other than military or civil service. The year is the year of passage regardless of whether the law came into force immediately or not. Also known as 'Workman's Compensation' or 'Disability'. Includes survivor benefits for injuries sustained on the job.
