|codingrules=By dividing the P90 disposable income decile by P50 disposable income decile, the variable is computed. Income is defined as a household's disposable income in a given year. It includes earnings, self-employment, capital income, and public cash transfers. Households pay income taxes and social security contributions, which are deducted. Each household member's income is allocated based on their needs, taking into account variances in household size. Teorell et al. (2024:353) define the variable as "Income inequality: P90/P50 disposable income decile ratio".
